Welcome to my creative space, an ever-growing place of play and potential through art, teaching and exploration.
I am a South African artist, working across painting, drawing and printmaking practices. My work is motivated by colour, texture and mark making, and I am interested in human connections to and subjective experiences of place, specifically encounters within the natural landscape. The focus of my work is on the painted, drawn, or printed mark and how mark making is a tool through which I can access and/or create these places, both real and imagined. The foremost inspiration for my work comes from the natural landscapes that I grew up experiencing, namely the mountains and ocean from Cape Town, including their various fauna and flora. I endeavour to (re)explore, (re)interpret and (re)imagine these experiences of place through mark making, expanding on the artistic methods of printmaking, drawing and painting.

As a teacher and artmaker, I enjoy collaborating and sharing creative practices and ideas with other artists.
